He drug, They Drug, We Drug

Of all the many and various ways in which our beautiful language gets tortured in a certain part of the world (I won’t emabarrass it by giving its full name but the initials are U, S and A) one of the weirdest has to be the word ‘drug’ as a substitute for ‘dragged’, as in ‘He drug it across the floor’, or ‘I drug Sue Beth down the stairs’. I came across this twice in one day on the TV, having never heard it before as far as I can remember.

It’s all drugs with you Americans, isn’t it?!
