Nina Bawden

It’s unusual for me to add three postings in one day, but I just had to mark the passing of Nina Bawden, who died recently.

I have very fond memories of her classic children’s novel Carrie’s War, which was based on her own experience of being evacuated to Wales during World War II as a child. There have been at least two really good TV adaptations. She also wrote for adults, and was nominated for the Booker Prize.
