“High-end”, as in I work for a high-end cabbage pickling company, Lord Sugar; or personally I go for high-end paperclips like the sleek XT240.
How did we ever manage without that term?! It seemed to appear out of nowhere – presumably from the States – American management-speak – and if the Americans use it then we must slavishly follow of course, because they’re so cool. Poor old Personnel is now Human Resources (never use one word when you can use two – sounds more impressive) and Grot Street School is now Grot High with its corporate slogan (“We don’t expel we merely exclude”. )
