I’ve practised tai chi and chi gung on and off for many years but I’ve always found that conventional tai chi forms (my preferred one is the Yang short form if you know about these things) need quite a lot of space and are virtually impossible to do indoors (unless you live in a mansion!)
In recent times I’ve come across the teachings of Jesse Tsao, a teacher based in America, who has adapted some forms so that they can be practised in even quite a small area. He calls it “compact tai chi”. He also teaches a whole range of related subjects, and when you see him perform you can tell he is the “real thing”.
I strongly recommend him to anyone interested in this subject – and anyone who isn’t but is looking for some sort of relaxing yet energising, health-promoting exercise!
